St Francis Catholic Church

Often the biggest challenge of an addition is maintaining the character of the original structure and providing a seamless transition from the old to the new. The St. Francis Catholic Church addition and remodel was no exception. The main objectives of the project included a new commercial kitchen, additional meeting spaces, renovation to the gathering space in the basement, additional office space, a cry room, and conference rooms.  The original, 1944 limestone cladding was carefully removed from the area to be expanded, templated, and recorded to be re-used. Like a giant puzzle, the pieces were interwoven with the new limestone to create the new façade.
